First Slavic Baptist Church is a Slavic Baptist congregation in Spring, Texas, where families from our community gather to worship God, study His Word, and support one another in faith.
Whether you are visiting for the first time or looking for a church to call home, you are warmly welcomed here. We would love to meet you this Sunday.
Pastor Art Kamyshin was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and came to America at the age of six. Like many immigrant stories, he came to America with his family to start a new life — but the greatest new beginning of Pastor Art's life came at the age of ten, when he gave his heart to Jesus Christ at a Vacation Bible School. That was when his walk with Christ began and his life was changed forever.
In 2012, Pastor Art completed his studies at Faith Bible Institute, deepening his foundation in God's Word and preparing his heart for the calling God had placed on his life. On April 3, 2010, Pastor Art married his beloved wife Marina, and together they have been blessed with four wonderful children. As a family, they love to serve and participate in ministry, taking their children with them everywhere they go.
In 2019, God led their family to Magnolia, Texas — and it wasn't long before He placed something greater on their hearts. What began as a gathering in their living room grew into a vision: First Slavic Church. On August 25, 2024, they held their very first church service, and the Lord has continued to bless their church community in sharing the Gospel.
We believe the Church is a hospital for broken hearts and wounded souls — a place where people find true peace in Jesus Christ. Here, the Bible is preached without compromise, and God's Word stands above any man. One verse Pastor Art constantly looks back on as a humbling reminder for himself and his family is:
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
